Kate is currently undertaking a fully funded REA (Research Excellence Award) PhD exploring video practice in literary archives at Newcastle University, UK (2016 – 19)

recent:

‘Moving In’. A month-long residency, living and sleeping at Northbourne Care Home in Gateshead. Kate is working with Claire Ford creating the first live-in residency of it’s type in the UK. Exploring themes of identity and connection whilst immersing their practice into the rhythm and routine of Northbourne, the residency hopes to deepen the understanding of the role art and artists can play in the lives of older people living in care home settings. ‘Moving In’ Blog

2016:
‘Creative Age’. Lead artist, establishing a Dementia – friendly creative and discussion group for older people at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts, in conjunction with Equal Arts

‘Dementia and The Imagination’. AHRC research project with Newcastle University, Equal Arts, Manchester University and Bangor University into the relationship between creativity, making and it’s effects on people with Dementia.
